Our Rib Pile Foxfibre® Socks - Coyote 80 Iron Mordant are knit using a high concentration of organically grown, naturally colored Foxfibre® cotton. Unlike conventional cotton, Foxfibre® is grown in naturally pigmented shades, allowing the socks to achieve their rich earthy color entirely without the use of dyes. The yarn is then finished using a traditional iron mordanting process.

Rather than relying on synthetic dyes, the natural tannins found within Foxfibre® cotton react with iron during an iron-rich mineral bath, gradually deepening and darkening the color of the yarn. The result is a rich charcoal-brown tone filled with subtle variation and depth that could never be replicated through conventional dyeing methods.

Because the color transformation comes from a reaction with the naturally occurring pigments already present in the cotton, the fabric retains the organic, nuanced character that makes Foxfibre® so unique.

Designed with a classic mid-calf height, the socks feature a ribbed knit upper for a secure fit and a small amount of stretch for everyday comfort and shape retention. French terry-style loops underfoot provide soft cushioning and added comfort throughout the day.
